Lighten Up Caroline
On April 19th, 2008, an estimated one-hundred volunteers set out to deliver informational goody bags, complete with a free compact fluorescent light bulb, to all of Caroline's 1,400 households. It took four hours for the volunteers to cover the 37 routes of the 55-square-mile town by foot, bicycle, and even on horseback! The reusable bags were stuffed with literature to spread awareness about energy use, including information on renewable energy in Caroline and the Energy Star program.
